Berber cushion cover, ancient weaving Zanafi/Glaoua, unique piece.

Superb vintage Berber cushion cover, entirely handmade in Morocco by artisans preserving an ancestral textile know-how. This unique piece comes from an old fragment of traditional weaving from the High Atlas, in the spirit of Zanafi / Glaoua creations, renowned for their graphic patterns, reliefs, and remarkable textures. Made from 100% pure natural sheep wool, it combines flat Kilim weaving with a raised geometric Berber decoration composed of chevrons and symbolic diamonds. Its reverse side reveals a traditional striped weave, testament to its first life as a nomadic textile. The finishes are particularly meticulous with hand-braided borders and beautiful original bicolour pom-poms. Its warm palette blends madder red, terracotta, copper orange, earthy brown, and natural cream. Measuring 59cm in length and 41cm in width, it has a sought-after rectangular shape, ideal for a sofa, an armchair, or layered on a bed. In excellent condition, the wool is healthy and robust, with well-preserved colours. Slight irregularities testify to the artisanal work and enhance its authenticity. A rare piece combining noble material, history, and traditional Moroccan craftsmanship.
