Colourful handmade rug, 250 x 160 cm - AZ825

A striking handmade Moroccan wool rug, built around a palette of intense cobalt blue and an abstract architectural composition. Its combination of deep colour, irregular geometry, and contrasting weaving techniques gives the piece a distinctly contemporary character while preserving the unique texture of traditional Amazigh craftsmanship. The design is created through a fascinating combination of long-pile wool sections and exposed flat-woven areas. This variation in height makes the geometric pattern visible not only through colour but also through texture, light, and shadow. Each rug is handwoven by Amazigh (Berber) artisans, made from 100% natural sheep wool, woven on a traditional Berber loom, knotted and finished individually by hand, created using traditional Moroccan weaving techniques and entirely unique, with natural variations due to the artisanal process. No mass production — only authentic Berber craftsmanship. Colour palette: cobalt/electric blue, variations of indigo blue, details in natural ivory and off-white. The composition consists of an irregular network of rectangles, vertical lines, and interconnected geometric shapes, almost reminiscent of an abstract architectural plan. Size: 250 × 160 cm.
