A cushion cover entirely hand-embroidered with pure silk threads by artisans from Kashmir. The design features a central diamond-shaped medallion, a classic motif of Persian carpets and Central Asian suzanis. At its heart, an ochre and cream floral rosette is set within an ivory cartouche, framed by burgundy petals. The garnet red field is enlivened with mauve floral scrolls and small golden ochre flowers, all bordered by an indigo blue edge adorned with heart patterns. The palette is deliberately earthy and refined, featuring garnet, powdery mauve, burgundy, ochre, and ivory, creating a sophisticated harmony at the intersection of wabi-sabi aesthetics and mature bohemian decor. The silk gives the piece a lustrous and shimmering quality that reveals itself differently depending on the light. The technique used is Aari embroidery, done with a crochet hook on an ecru cotton canvas. Each piece requires dozens of hours of manual work and constitutes a unique handcrafted item.
