Vase by the artist Ada Loumani. Ada Loumani is a French glass artist born in 1959, from a family of glassmakers, continuing the legacy in a contemporary practice of artistic blown glass. Based in Valbonne, near Nice, he has been developing a body of work for several decades where glass becomes a medium for encapsulated painting, straddling the line between craft and contemporary creation. Self-taught, he specialises in the Graal technique, a complex process combining hot and cold work. This method allows him to create works in which real images and compositions are trapped within the glass material, playing with depth, transparency, and coloured light, giving his pieces a unique pictorial and sculptural dimension.
