Antique Thonet bench in bent wood and caning, signed.

Authentic Thonet bench in curved beech, dating from the late 19th or early 20th century. Its silhouette is emblematic of Viennese art in bent wood: oval medallion backrest, sinuous lines, and scroll-shaped armrests. It rests on four slightly flared legs, connected by a stretcher. The piece bears its two original marks: the Thonet paper label and the "THONET" stamped mark under the seat rail. The seat has been completely re-caned by hand, using traditional caning. The structure is sound and stable. The original patina has been preserved, with slight signs of use consistent with its age, particularly on the armrests. It is a character piece that will find its place in an entrance, a living room, a bedroom, or at the foot of a bed.
