Art Deco Enfilade in walnut veneer - 1925-1939

Technical sheet. * Style / Period: Art Deco, Poland, 1925-1939. * Material (exterior): Body veneered in European walnut; door fronts, top surface, and step covered exclusively with walnut burl. Structure made of solid softwood and period plywood. Protection of the top: removable transparent tempered glass. * Material (interior): Interior boxes, back panels, and drawers veneered in mahogany. Handle of the central drawer: recessed brass. * Finish: Hand-applied shellac varnish, glossy finish with closed pores. Base highlighted by a black lacquered half-round. * Dimensions: Total height 109.5 cm (height to the top: 97 cm)|Width 190 cm|Depth 64.5 cm. Description of form and structure (Art history analysis) Low dining sideboard with three doors, characterised by a horizontal line and a symmetrical arrangement of natural veneers. The body features rounded side posts with successive projections. The upper part is topped with a moulded cornice. The walnut burl veneer on the side doors is arranged symmetrically in a geometric mirror pattern. A decorative stepped shelf is positioned at the back of the top. The entire structure rests on two wide block feet. The interior space is divided into three independent compartments: the left part includes a block of five internal drawers (English drawers), the central module houses a top drawer with a recessed brass handle and a shelf, while the right part contains a wooden shelf. This piece originally constituted the main part of a large dining room set. Condition and restoration. The piece has undergone complete carpentry and technical restoration. The structure is stable and the interior is clean, without odour. The three original locks are functional; three new brass keys have been fitted to the mechanism.
