This piece stands out for its elongated silhouette and its hand-painted abstract geometric decoration, characteristic of the Italian modernist revival of the post-war period. The intense cobalt blue background is animated by a network of black lines structuring colourful shapes in shades of aquamarine, vermilion red, and olive yellow. The whole evokes the graphic and architectural explorations of Italian design in the 1950s-1960s, at the intersection of geometric abstraction and decorative art.
