Elegant pair of French wall sconces with two lights dating from the 1950s-1960s, in the spirit of the productions of Maison Arlus and Maison Lunel. Each sconce features two curved arms in gilded brass supporting long striped white glass diffusers. The composition is organised around a geometric wall plate in black lacquered metal, enhanced by a triangular red element that gives the whole a particularly graphic and elegant character. The combination of gilded brass, black, red, and white glass is very representative of the French decorative vocabulary of the post-war period. These sconces have a beautiful architectural presence while maintaining great finesse, and they can perfectly be placed on either side of a mirror, a painting, a fireplace, a console, or a bed. The whole exhibits a lovely antique patina as well as some light marks and signs of use consistent with its age, particularly small marks on the metal parts. Please carefully consult the detailed photographs, which are an integral part of the description. Each sconce is equipped with two bayonet sockets. French work, circa 1950-1960. In the style of the productions of Maison Arlus and Maison Lunel; no manufacturer's mark has been identified. As with any antique lighting, the electrical installation should be checked and, if necessary, adapted to local standards by a qualified professional before use. Dimensions of each sconce: Height: 30 cm. Width: 22 cm. Depth: 10 cm.
