Set of 6 art deco carved walnut chairs, attributed to gauthier-poinsignon, circa 1920 we offer a rare and elegant set of six art deco dining chairs, attributed to the renowned gauthier-poinsignon workshop, active in the école de nancy. These remarkable pieces, dated circa 1920, embody the excellence of french interwar design. Material: solid walnut, a noble and warm wood, finely carved. Each chair features refined carving on the theme of the vine: bunches of grapes, leaves and tendrils are meticulously crafted, evoking the richness of nature and the naturalistic elegance characteristic of the école de nancy. Upholstery: seats and backs covered in the original leather, now tired and in need of restoration or replacement. Dimensions: total height: 98 cm seat height: 51 cm (ideal proportion for a classic or contemporary dining room). Depth: 44 cm width: 44 cm general condition: structure: in good condition, reflecting the robustness of the walnut, which guarantees great longevity and the quality of the craftsmanship. Superb natural patina, with minor signs of use consistent with the age of the pieces. Webbing and padding: in good condition, providing a sound basis for work on the upholstery. Leather upholstery: the seats and backs are covered in their original leather, which, although now tired, testifies to the authenticity of the pieces. The leather shows significant signs of wear (cracks, discoloration) and requires restoration or replacement to restore the chairs to their full glory.
