Modernist tripod lamp in glass and brass by MD, Italy circa 1950.

Very pretty and rare small lamp from around 1950. At the junction between the modernist period and the emerging Space Age, it was made in Italy by M.D (label on the back of the lamp, see photo). Tripod model in gilded brass supporting a blown glass diffuser featuring a textured geometric pattern in diamond points with a satin black metal back, cream lacquered on the inside. Brass glass fixing beads. Total height 21 cm, of which glass 12 cm, width 25 cm and depth 16 cm. Original checked electrical cord of 144 cm. In very good used condition (however, some wear to the gilding should be noted), this very original lamp of superb quality will serve as both an ambient lamp in a living room and a bedside lamp in a bedroom. Italian class!!!.
