Mirror Empire restoration XIXth

Charming little mirror empire - restoration of the nineteenth century. Small wall mirror. Wooden frame and gilded stucco. The gilding is gold leaf. The gilding technique is tempura, known as water or tempera. The bottom of the mirror has been restored, for more solidity. Today it is a very thin plate of plywood, varnished. It is a professional work, ancient, probably from the first half of the twentieth century. The rendering is impeccable. The ice is original; it is a mercury mirror. The mirror is in a good state of conservation. Glass, however, is marked by the passage of time. Period: empire - restoration. Dating: circa 1804 - 1830. Simplicity, discretion, and elegance... Mirror dimensions: width 23.5cm, and height 32.5cm. Dimensions frame: width 27.0cm, and height 36.0cm.
