Three birds on a flowering branch in vintage ceramic – Karl Ens spirit

🐦 Charming group of three glazed ceramic birds, gathered on a flowering branch in a composition full of life and delicacy. This lovely vintage animal scene, in the spirit of Karl Ens's creations, captivates with its expressive shapes, soft colours, and particularly refined floral decoration. 🌸 The composition features three small birds perched on a branch, each adopting a different pose. On the left, a fledgling with outstretched wings and an open beak seems ready to take flight. In the centre, a bird with grey and cream plumage sits peacefully on the branch, while on the right, a third bird, with its beak open, appears to be singing. Together, they create a lively and endearing spring scene. 🎨 The decoration is distinguished by its three pink flowers with finely textured yellow centres, accompanied by small pale green leaves. The birds display delicate shades of grey, beige, cream, and pale yellow, enhanced by touches of brown and pink. The branch, crafted in woody tones, adds depth to the whole. The glossy glaze beautifully highlights the details of the modelling and the colour variations. 🏺 This piece evokes animal figurines in porcelain and ceramic from the mid-20th century, particularly the naturalistic compositions in the spirit of Karl Ens. Its romantic aesthetic and decorative work make it a beautiful collectible item, equally appealing in a display case or on a shelf, console, or antique furniture.
