Brown wool rug with geometrical design. This handmade item is made by hand in wool, thick, so can be used as an area rug, it is perfect for a bohemian romantic decor. It is a vintage item but never been used, in perfect condition, ready to be part of your home decor. 223 X 155cm. It is an original handwoven item, over 30-40 years ago in romania, using traditional methods and wool from the local environment. Those handmade rugs are unfortunately very rare now. In majority, our are from oltenia, south romania, like this one. In the south of romania, years ago, every mom handmade for her daughters beautiful carpets and rugs as dot for their weddings. I grown up with this: every winter, at my grandmother' s house, women from the village, neighbors and relatives, spend the evenings and those long winter nights together, working on beautiful wool rugs or other handmade items. Nowadays the art of handcrafting rugs is almost extinguished. Now, we are trying to discover and put into the modern design context these beauties. This is our story.
