This 1409 armchair was designed by André Cordemeyer for Gispen in the late 1950s. The model is known for its clear lines and lightweight appearance. Here, it is presented in the compact variant appreciated by women. The design is based on a slender steel frame that ensures an airy silhouette. The armchair has been reupholstered with a soft petrol blue fabric that brings calm and refinement, and easily combines with mid-century, Japandi, and modern interiors. The new upholstery offers pleasant seating comfort without compromising the clean lines of the design. The wenge armrests have been carefully renovated in our workshop. They have been hand-sanded and treated with a matte furniture oil, highlighting the beautiful natural texture of the wood. The metal frame has been cleaned and coated with a protective layer of wax. The armchair rests securely on rubber pads to protect the floor and is ready for daily use. Upon purchase, you will receive care instructions along with a matching furniture oil, specially designed for the maintenance of the renovated wooden armrests, to keep them in optimal condition. An iconic armchair from Gispen where comfort, materials, and design come together naturally.
