Pair of exotic wood bookends decorated with carved rhinoceroses

Pair of exotic wood bookends composed for each element of a trompe-l'oeil book from which emerges a sculpted rhinoceros. The whole is in good condition of conservation except for a lack of horn of one of the rhinoceroses and a mark of wear on one of the books. Dimensions for each element: height 20 cms width 12 cms depth 11.5 cms total weight 2kg.
