Victorian antique fireplace in tarred pine and sculpted gesso.

We are delighted to offer this lovely Victorian fireplace made of tarred pine and gesso, dating from around 1860. A very beautiful and highly decorative fireplace, the gesso plaster details are exquisite, featuring a horseman, pigs or wild boars, which is truly delightful. The condition is period, sublime for its age with a dreamlike patina, displaying a warm and rich colour across the entire surface. External dimensions: height 150 cm, width 182 cm, depth 15 cm. Internal dimensions: height 117.5 cm, width 135.5 cm. All measurements are taken at the widest point. The condition is good, with wear consistent with age and use, as well as slight discolouration.
