Mid-century Danish floor lamp. Design by Svend Aage Holm Sørensen, for Holm Sørensen, Denmark. A structure made of iron composed of horizontal and vertical lines forms a variety of geometric shapes. These shapes create square and rectangular frames, some of which are filled with elements of coloured glass in shades of yellow and ochre. Painted wooden base. Svend Aage Holm Sørensen (1913-2004) was a Danish designer. He is known for his lighting fixtures. He likely designed lamps for other Danish manufacturers before establishing his own company. His creations were sold under the name "Holm-Sørensen & Pedersen Belysning APS" and later "Holm Sørensen A/S". Holm Sørensen's style was initially influenced by modernism, even by De Stijl and Bauhaus. In the 1960s, Holm Sørensen's style changed completely. He began working with unfinished brass and copper surfaces, in a typically brutalist style that was popular from the 1950s to the mid-1970s. Very good condition. New lampshade included. Publisher's label present.
