Pitcher, milk jug

An old small pitcher (or milk jug / creamer) made of "steel earth" ceramic, produced in Saint-Uze (in the Drôme), a factory famous for its durable ceramics and stoneware. Late 19th or early 20th century. A charming floral pattern in cobalt blue applied with a stamp, typical of the traditional production of the region. The stamp under the base clearly indicates "STEEL EARTH / SAINT-UZE". It comes with a matching lid topped with a grip knob, which is particularly sought after for this type of small model.
