This minimalist tube lamp has been designed for the general practitioner's office. Model by Gerrit Rietveld, production attributed to Van De Groenekan. The proposed lamp was acquired by a single lady in the 1960s or 1970s, when she had her apartment in The Hague furnished by an interior designer. After her death, a niece inherited the lamp. Provenance and age uncertain, given according to "family tradition". The lamp is still equipped with the originals glass tubes, which are broken in various places. In addition we will provide the buyer with a new set of custom made glass tubes. If desired, we could provide the buyer with the three tubular incandescent light bulbs as well. But please be advised that they will only work on 220 Volts. Dimensions: Depth 15.7 inches (40 cm), Width 15.7 inches (40 cm), Height 61.0 inches (155 cm). Size of the black wooden blocks: depth 1.5 inches (3.7 cm), width 1.5 inches (3.7 cm), length 1.8 inches (4.6 cm). Literature: - M. Küper & I. van Zijl, Gerrit Th. Rietveld: The Complete Works (Utrecht 1992), p. 87. - C. Fiell & P. Fiell, 1000 Lights: 1879 to 1959 (Cologne 2005), p. 228-229.
