A traditional object of burgundian cellars, the cellar rat had the dual purpose of providing lighting but also of alerting the winemaker of potential gaseous emissions during fermentation in barrels. Having become a decorative object, it retains all its ingenuity, thanks to its design which allows the candle to rise as it burns (thanks to the small pusher which turns in the spiral). This is where the expression “saving pennies” comes from. Made in burgundy, it is a true piece of burgundian heritage. The shape of this object is very studied and rational: the flat bottom allows immediate and stable installation, the rat's tail constitutes a handle that is easy to grip and its shape allows it to be hung on the edge of the oak barrels. Steel and wrought iron diameter of the base 10 cm height of the object: 15 cm candle supplied 18 cm – diameter 2 cm.
