Napoleon III center table

Middle table in blackened pear wood, rectangular in shape with period rounded sides. Tray, bordered by a frieze on a bronze rod, has in its center a marquetry with multiple decorations, such as cups, birds, flowers and foliage. The top also offers fillets forming a double frame, all made of brass inlays. We find these same edging patterns bordering the belt of this table with drawer. The whole rests on four turned, tapered legs. They are decorated with ruffles and collars. These four uprights end in spinning top feet and they are connected by a spacer on which the same inlay threads are recalled. At the junction of the half-moons which constitute this lower part is placed a bronze vase with a chiseled lid and ornate handles.
