Vintage Italian Lounge Chair in Copper Velvet, 1970s. A lounge chair made in Italy in the 1970s. What makes it stand out is its form: wide, flat armrests run straight down into the legs, creating solid blocks on either side of the seat. The result is a compact, almost sculptural silhouette, typical of Italian design of the decade. Unfortunately, we have not been able to identify the designer or manufacturer of this unique piece. The chair is fully upholstered, including the armrests and legs, in its original velvet. The warm copper-orange colour shifts subtly with the light. The loose seat cushion and gently reclined backrest make for a comfortable lounging position, yet the chair is compact enough for a smaller living room or bedroom. It rests on small black plastic feet that keep the upholstery off the floor. The chair is preserved in its original, very good condition. It shows only minor signs of use consistent with its age.
