This set of stackable antique Japanese boxes consists of seven modules made from stained solid wood, produced in Japan during the Taishō to early Shōwa period. Their modular design allows for various configurations. This type of Japanese storage box was used to organise household items, textiles, or tools, and can be stacked or used separately. The construction is lightweight and precise, featuring traditional assembly and a stained wood finish with protection. The repetition of the modules reflects functional production. The surface shows a uniform patina, with wear on the edges and variations in hue, in line with the wabi-sabi aesthetic. In a contemporary interior, these elements function as an open storage system or as a modular decorative composition, ideal for Japandi or minimalist spaces. Details.
