Set of 8 'S4' dining chairs by Alfred Hendrickx for Belform, 1950s

Rare set of 6 dining chairs designed by Alfred Hendrickx for Belform around 1957. These chairs are from Alfred’s early design period in the 50s where he was clearly inspired by Italian and Scandinavian designers. As such they feature a very light and elegant black lacquered wooden frame. The seats have been reupholstered with a green-blue fabric based on their original color. They remain in excellent condition with some traces of use on the frames. This model ‘S4’ is very uncommon and therefore hard to find but fully documented in the Belform catalogs.
