Dagobert armchair in walnut, Medieval style – Late 19th century

Armchair in carved walnut in the Renaissance style, featuring an X-shaped base with a grotesque head at the junction. The scroll-ended armrests are carved with volutes and scrolls. They connect to the tall uprights of the elaborately designed backrest, which takes the form of grimacing faces. The high, undulating crossbar with a grained background is also adorned with volutes and scrolls. The Dagobert armchair is inspired by the throne of the King of France, reminiscent of the style of ancient seats. The curved structure of the armchair, with its medieval inspirations and ornamental details, gives this seat authenticity and elegance. ******** Period: late 19th century.
