An icon of design since the 1950s, the Fanett chair and its creator, Finnish designer Ilmari Tapiovaara, are no longer featured. Both solid and light-looking, it is distinguished by its black woolly beech back, the seven bars of which are enshrined in a particularly elegant seat. The latter, made of teak plywood resting on a horseshoe structure and a compass footing assembled in h, is a model of technicality and delicacy. In particular, we love the hollow of the middle which comes to marry the shapes of the body and the finely curved appearance of the front of the seat, as well as the magnificent veining of teak. This design, both sought after and minimalist, definitely makes the fanett chair the emblem of Scandinavian style. The proposed set is in its juice and its period patina. On the four chairs, one of them suffered more the outrages of time than the others: there are lack of teak veneer on the top of the seat, as well as an old repair at the seated/footing junction. The other three chairs are in good general condition, even though one of them has lost pieces of veneer on the underside of the seat. The lasle of the four chairs has been worn down over the years, and the beech can be seen in places. Teak, on the other hand, has stripes and traces of use, but still has its deep and shimmering colour. Seat height: 43, 5 cm.
