Hand painted Portugal Coimbra candle holder

Adorable ceramic candle holder, whose plant motif decoration has been finely hand painted. Its relatively wide base makes it very stable. Below, it bears the words “acs portugal, sec xvii, hand painted coimbra”. Coimbra is a city in portugal known for its ceramics and the mention “sec xvii” would indicate that it is a reproduction of 17th century decorations. This candlestick dates from the 70s or 80s. It is in good general condition, no gaps or chips, but some stains and traces of use in the part receiving the candle. It measures 14.5 cm in height, 9 cm in diameter at the base, 4.8 cm in diameter at the top, the “hollow” part receiving the candle measures approximately 2 cm in diameter.
