Interior slatted bench in fir - brutalist style, 1960s

The work on slatted wood fits into this modernist tradition where the structure becomes the main motif: here, the interplay of vertical and horizontal lines creates a volume that is both rigorous and sculptural. This rhythmic approach to seating, popularised since the 1960s by Scandinavian and brutalist design, emphasises the readability of the material and the simplicity of the form. This bench made of solid fir has undergone a complete renovation. The structure has been entirely refurbished: stripped and then coated with a medium oak stain that reveals the depth of the grain, before being protected by a glossy varnish that provides a beautiful shine and great durability for everyday use. The piece is now in impeccable condition, ready to be installed. With its graphic silhouette and well-proportioned design, the piece naturally finds its place as an entrance bench, an elegant end-of-bed piece, or even in a bathroom where its varnished finish will withstand the ambient humidity.
