Incredible set of 14 exceptional empire plates from the halley workshop. Purchased a long time ago from a count in an old loire château. This set of 14 plates is particularly rare. Diameter 23 cm halley's workshop charles halley began his career as a faience maker, rue montmartre in paris. He appears in almanacs as early as 1793. In 1803 he is cited in a notarial deed as a faience maker and porcelain merchant. His factory decorated porcelain blanks from the locré and nast factories, among others. In 1811, charles halley married his daughter with his son lebon, a crystal, faience, and porcelain merchant. The association formed halley lebon in use from this period and lasted until 1822. During the restoration, halley lebon was under the protection of the count of artois, the future charles X and brevet of monsieur, brother of the king. Our series of plates is therefore likely prior to 1811.
