ID-S floor lamp designed by Ettore Sottsass for Zumtobel, Austria, Italy, circa 1980. Made of blue-lacquered metal, it rises on a thin stem resting on a rectangular base equipped with three small casters, allowing it to be easily moved. Its halogen light source underlines Sottsass's approach, keen to combine functional rigor with formal simplicity. This creation demonstrates the fruitful collaboration between the Italian designer and the Austrian lighting specialist Zumtobel. Manufactured by: Zumtobel, circa 1987.
