Midcentury Brazilian modernist lounge easy chair by Acacia Gil Borsoi,1950s

This rare lounge chair by renowned architect and one of the founders of modernism in North Brazil, Acacia Gil Borsoi is a true example of midcentury Brazilian furniture. This chair is made in solid Pau Ferro hardwood only found in certain parts in Brazil and Bolivia and is widely considered to be the perfect substitution for rosewood and therefore not restricted in regards of Cites etc and was produced by Casa Hollanda in Recife in the 1950s There are some lines visible in primarily the armrests that have been checked and treated by our team of restorers. The upholstery is a later new addition and in perfect condition. The chair comes with provenance from te estate of one of Brazils most respected industrial families.
