Armchair and footrest

Tatra armchair with footrest. The armchair with a stool was designed by Frantisk Jirak for the Czechoslovakian furniture factory Tatra Nabytok. The set comes from the mid-1960s. An armchair with a very original shape with armrests made of bent plywood finished with mahogany veneer and a comfortable spring-upholstered seat. The set is completed by a large foot, also upholstered with springs. The set has undergone a complete renovation of the joinery and upholstery. The wooden elements have been cleaned of old coverings, re-stained and covered with several layers of semi-matt varnish. The upholstery inserts have been replaced and the springs re-laced, all covered with modern, high-quality fabric.
