Pretty glazed ceramic pitcher in acidulous colors that will add pep to your kitchen. It is a hot milk jug, it was a utilitarian ceramic fairly typical of vallauris that many ceramists decorated in their own way, but this example is special with its tubular spout located on the side and not at the point at the edge of the pitcher. The glaze is also particular with these two recognizable colors and brown demarcations on a milky background that we find on ceramics signed by etienne daniel, better known for his ceramics decorated with thistles, a decoration of which he was the specialist. The pattern in "colored triangles" also evokes robert picault, but he signed all these pieces, unlike etienne daniel who often made do with a "hand decoration" as on this piece, sometimes with the addition of his initials. It's up to you to judge or continue the investigation. The fact that there is no mention "vallauris" is a good point here, I think, because when the ceramist was renowned, it was not useful to systematically add this mention. This pitcher is in very good condition, very clean, no cracks or chips, just a few microscopic chips on the spout. It measures 14 cm in height, 20 cm in width including the handle and approximately 12 cm in maximum diameter.
