Large vintage architectural glass block tray

Striking large rectangular tray made from a half glass block, transforming an architectural building material into a sculptural decorative object. Made from exceptionally thick, heavy clear glass with a raised border and the characteristic softly distorted surface associated with traditional glass blocks. A particularly interesting example of industrial / architectural design, where a utilitarian material becomes a minimalist interior object. Its generous size makes it suitable as a serving tray, bathroom or vanity tray, fruit dish, candle display or simply as a sculptural centrepiece on a coffee table. Approx. 30 × 30 cm, with a low-profile form. Very substantial and heavy due to the thick pressed glass construction. Good vintage condition with visible surface scratches and traces of use, particularly to the flat central area, as shown in the detailed photos. REF 26357.
