A striking piece of 1960s German lighting design — the BOOM flush ceiling lamp by Glashütte Limburg, one of the most architecturally bold fixtures the manufacturer ever produced. The shade consists of a 3×3 grid of thick, moulded smoked glass cubes held together in a warm brass framework, sitting on a slate-grey metal base. Unlit, it reads almost like a sculptural object — the smoky glass and gold tones giving it a brooding, luxurious quality. Switch it on and the transformation is complete: the glass cubes glow amber from within, casting a warm, intimate light that makes it as atmospheric as it is functional. This is a lamp that works equally well in a period interior and a contemporary setting — the grid geometry feels as relevant today as it did sixty years ago. A natural fit for interiors inspired by Hollywood Regency, Space Age, or warm minimalism. Model: BOOM Manufacturer: Glashütte Limburg, Germany. Period: circa 1960s. Materials: smoked glass, brass-tone metal frame, grey metal base. Dimensions: 22 × 22 × 13 cm. Mount: flush ceiling fitting. Condition: vintage, please see all photos. A rare and collectible piece from one of mid-century Europe's most important lighting manufacturers — the same house behind the iconic Helena Tynell bubble lamps.
