Poulsen Coffee Table for Haslev Møbelsnedkeri in Ceramic Tiles, Denmark, 1960s

A rare piece  This superb Danish modern coffee table designed by Tue Poulsen for Haslev Møbelsnedkeri, Denmark, dates from the 1960s/1970s. This square table combines a warm-toned wooden structure with an exceptionally decorative handcrafted ceramic top signed by Tue Poulsen. The surface consists of individually decorated tiles presenting abstract geometric compositions with circular radiant patterns and linear motifs in natural tones of brown, ochre, cream, and soft green. The graphic ceramic top contrasts beautifully with the wooden base featuring clean architectural lines. Fine brass inlays, running horizontally around the frame, add an extra touch of elegance. The original label underneath indicates "Keramik af Tue Poulsen – Haslev," confirming attribution. An excellent example of mid-century Danish design, merging cabinetry and workshop ceramics. Its relatively compact square format makes it particularly versatile as a coffee table, side table, or large nightstand.
