A pair of dining chairs made of stained mahogany/walnut wood, featuring: Vertical slatted backrest (4 slats) with a rounded top rail. Small round carved medallions on the backrest posts — a characteristic decorative detail. Turned front and back legs, tapered. Upholstered seat in white/cream fabric with a geometric pattern. Wood with a beautiful dark mahogany patina, visible wear on the legs and the apron. Chairs in the Arts & Crafts / late Art Nouveau style. Or English Edwardian style. Wood: mahogany or mahogany imitation (stained walnut) Estimated period: 1890–1920. The round medallions on the slats are very characteristic of British Arts & Crafts style or the French Belle Époque production of dining room furniture. Sturdy and authentic.
