Antique table attributed to Luigi and Angiolo Falcini in chestnut wood, Italy, 19th century.

Rectangular table made of chestnut wood veneered in dark walnut and inlaid with various woods, mother-of-pearl, and bone. The floral-patterned marquetry features the tabletop with four mirror reserves created around the central oval reserve, which depicts a classical vase with an inlaid assortment of flowers including roses, daisies, bellflowers, lilies of the valley, tulips, and lilies. The side reserves are composed of leaves and flowers animated by birds. The belts, as well as the pyramid trunk legs, are inlaid with vegetal motifs, and the stretchers connecting the legs are adorned with butterflies.
