Charming oil painting on cardboard depicting a French landscape, identified as the bridge spanning the River Aube in the village of Bar-sur-Aube (Grand-Est). Late 19th-century French school: unidentified painter, but signed "GILLET" lower left. Old pencil inscriptions on the back of the mount: "Gillet" and "View of Bar s. Aube". The frame is not original; this painting has been reframed by us. Dimensions of the mount: L. 19.5 cm x H. 15.5 cm. Dimensions of the frame: L. 25.5 cm x H. 20.5 cm x D. 3.5 cm. Weight before packaging: 450 g.
