Rare glazed ceramic wall panel created in 1973 by Father Paoli at the Benedictine Abbey of Saint-Michel-de-Cuixà, a significant site of Catalan Romanesque heritage located in the Pyrénées-Orientales. This composition features two stylised figures with refined lines, inspired by medieval iconography and the Romanesque art that permeates the history of the abbey. The engraved lines, pronounced reliefs, and glazes in shades of beige, brown, green, and blue give the piece a unique sculptural presence, both understated and expressive. Produced as part of the artistic workshops at Saint-Michel-de-Cuixà, this work reflects the revival of sacred art and monastic craftsmanship that characterised the Pyrénées-Orientales in the 20th century.
