A subtle blend of noble materials and clean lines, this coffee table embodies the Parisian chic of the late seventies: a breccia marble top suspended above a chrome structure with delicately chamfered edges. A truly unique piece, designed for discerning interiors: effortlessly elegant, remarkable without being ostentatious, this table perfectly marries the timeless luxury of marble with the precision of a meticulously crafted metal frame. The rectangular top (110 X 50 cm) is carved from sumptuous Breccia Pernice, a geological rarity extracted from a hillside near Verona, Italy, and shaped by millions of years of sedimentation beneath the Venetian Alps. This marble is now highly sought after for its deep tones—cocoa, ivory, burgundy, and emerald green. Mirror-polished in the workshop and then crystallized, the surface reveals an almost liquid depth: each fragment seems to float on the surface of the tabletop. Compact enough for an urban living room, yet spacious enough to hold fine books and champagne glasses, the tabletop rests on a demountable chromed steel frame. The discreet and robust internal welds suggest craftsmanship rather than industrial production. No play, no flexing: the whole piece is impeccably stable. This assembly system is notably found on certain Roche Bobois series produced around 1980. - Origin & Period: likely Belgian or French contract manufacture for Roche Bobois, circa 1978-1985 (technical documentation supporting this attribution available upon request) Very good original condition: a few discreet micro-pits; slight graying on one section of the apron, with no significant aesthetic impact; glossy tabletop, without cracks or chips; clean and consistent edges.
