Red Fjord chair by Patricia Urquiola for Moroso 50cm X 80cm X 102cm, perfection in a broken shell. From a piece of shell broken and smoothed by the waves, Patricia Urquiola has designed a collection of seating for homes and public spaces. As its name suggests, the collection is heavily influenced by Scandinavian style, with references to Arne Jacobsen and the coves of the northern coasts represented in the long cut. Like a natural cycle where the shell is reborn under the effect of time and water, the chair becomes an armchair and then a stool. Its broken shape and abstract concept together become a design object: the soft lines that support and envelop are highlighted by decorative stitching in harmony with the essence of the chair's structure.
