Charles Schölander (1848-1906) was a remarkable Swedish artist and painter, recognised for his contributions to the 19th-century Scandinavian art scene. Born in Gothenburg, Sweden, Schölander became known for his realistic depictions of landscapes, maritime scenes, and genre paintings, reflecting his deep connection to the natural beauty and everyday life of Sweden. Schölander participated in various exhibitions and was well regarded during his lifetime, although he did not achieve widespread international fame. His paintings remain appreciated for their craftsmanship and their ability to evoke a sense of place. Charles Schölander passed away in 1906, leaving behind a legacy as one of the most respected Swedish landscape and maritime artists of the late 19th century.
