Important screen (byobu) consisting of 6 panels presenting a calligraphic poem and signed by Okamoto Koseki (1811-1898). The author is one of the few female calligraphers of this period. The calligraphy was made on sheets of Japanese paper (washi) glued to panels covered with silver sheets. Silk frame and black laywood. Late Meiji period (1868-1912). Very good condition.
