Discover a magnificent and rare botanical chromo-lithograph entitled -tulipes simples tardives- - this engraving of incredible detail and accuracy, transmits the natural tones of the leaves and the flower. - with a size of 29.5 X 20 cm, this engraving is large enough to see all the details and will look magnificent if you decide to frame it - made around 1899, more than 120 years ago, the plate comes from a specialist work on horticulture and gardening - in very good condition, this engraving has minimal dirt towards the bottom of the page. See the pictures. ------- - the illustration was created by élisa champin, famous botanical illustrator - the book was published by octave doin in paris with the librairie agricole de la maison rustique and the grain merchant of vilmorin andrieux - printed on slightly cream colored card stock. The back of the sheet is blank. - this beautiful piece is both informative and aesthetic, celebrating the beauty of the plant world - chromolithography is a color lithographic printing process (1837), based on printing color by color. Each color was placed on a lithographic stone and the same document passed from one stone to another with precise markings. This long but aesthetic process was subsequently replaced by offset printing ------- I offer other plates from the same series.
