Elegant spherical vase in fine glazed earthenware designed by Charles Catteau for the Belgian manufacturer Boch Frères Keramis in La Louvière, one of the emblematic productions of European Art Deco. This model, referenced D1847, features a rich stylised floral decoration characteristic of Catteau's decorative vocabulary: geometric flowers, elongated foliage, and plant motifs rhythmically outlined in dark brown. The palette harmoniously combines deep green, ochre, yellow, and brown tones on a slightly crackled cream background, creating a refined contrast typical of Keramis creations from 1925-1935. The perfectly balanced ovoid shape is accentuated by a dark brown glazed cylindrical neck. The decoration unfolds across the entire surface of the vase, offering a particularly decorative panoramic effect. Under the base are the workshop references D1847 as well as the Keramis manufacturing marks. This model is listed in the documentation dedicated to the work of Charles Catteau. Charles Catteau (1880-1966), artistic director of Boch Frères Keramis from 1907, is now considered one of the most important ceramicists of Art Deco. His creations were awarded at the International Exhibition of Decorative Arts in Paris in 1925.
