Style: Louis XVI / Neoclassical, characterized by linear forms and tapered, truncated pyramid legs (gambe a spillo). Materials: It appears to be made of walnut (noce), featuring fine inlays (intarsi) of lighter woods like olive or maple to create decorative borders and the central floral medallion on the top. Design: The desk has a distinctive shaped apron (the curved cutout between the legs) and a front layout typically consisting of three or more drawers. Origin: This specific aesthetic—combining walnut veneers with delicate stringing and floral inlays—is very common in high-quality furniture from Italy, particularly the Veneto or Lombardy regions.
