Raku vase in the shape of a cracked old rose heart with a small缺glaze, see the last photo. Dimensions: Height: 22 cm. Width: 22 cm. Depth: 10 cm. — raku — Raku, the French abbreviation of the Japanese term raku-yaki 楽焼 (raku-yaki: "comfortable firing"), is the result of an ancient glazing technique that produces random results. The thermal shock at the end of firing causes micro-cracks revealed by smoking (see below) in the glaze. Therefore, there will never be two identical pieces. The object's strength is not affected by these micro-cracks. These objects were traditionally used for the tea ceremony. — glazing — The biscuit is completely or partially covered with glaze (or enamel), using a brush, spray, or by dipping, and then re-fired in the kiln.
