Ilmari Tapiovaara Pirkka Dining Table for Asko Finland 1950s

Dining table, model pirkka, designed by ilmari tapiovaara in the 1950s for asko finland. The table is marked underneath the top with the asko label. Asko was the first producer of the pirkka furniture, later on these series were made by laukaan puu. The table has a solid pine top and black lacquered birch frame/legs. It has the typically 'tapiovaara' split-top seperated by visible dowels. The table is in good original condition. Little wear on the top.
