Baroque inspired ornate brass and bubble glass table

Highly decorative vintage table lamp with a strong Baroque / Rococo-inspired character. A striking vintage table lamp featuring an ornate brass base and stem, finished in an aged silver/brass-toned patina. The sculptural base is richly decorated with raised scrollwork, floral motifs and ornamental detailing. The stem has a distinctive rounded, embossed central element, giving the lamp a particularly decorative, almost antique appearance. Above it is a decorative metal gallery supporting a cylindrical glass shade. The clear glass shade is the main feature: it has a cylindrical form covered with numerous raised circular bubbles and textured glass elements, creating a beautiful sparkling effect when illuminated. The combination of the heavily ornamented metalwork and textured glass gives the lamp an eclectic vintage, Baroque, and Art Nouveau-inspired appearance. It would work particularly well as an accent lamp in an eclectic, maximalist, vintage or antique-inspired interior. Made in the 1950s-early 60s, it is equipped with  the original electrical cord and plug, but the E14 light bulb holder and a switch seem newer. Height 28cm. Base diameter 10cm. Glass height 13cm.
